Marquee Hire for the Armed Forces
Armed Forces Marquee Hire
When the call came through to us for a party for the Sargent’s Mess Winter Ball at a local army camp we knew that this could be an exciting opportunity to demonstrate our abilities to the Armed Forces and promptly emailed over a rough indication of costs….and a bit of luck came our way when we were shortlisted and asked to come to a meeting at the barracks.
After the meeting and many emails later we were finally chosen to create a superior venue.
Previously we were told that the marquee events they had before, run along the same line of one long marquee, bog standard carpet (which always got wet as the event was in winter) and a very average interior look. Our brief was to create a “wow” factor for the 300 guests in a Venetian style.
With the space available and understanding that one long marquee was unsuitable, we joined two of our 9m marquees together to create an 18m wide venue with a stage in the middle of the long edge so that all the tables were equidistant around the stage in a semi-circle formation. We also attached a 6m structure to the side of the main marquee where guests could go and get their food and another marquee to the side of this to act as an entrance where a harpist was due to play.
We also installed our innovative flooring system throughout the entire site…..over 8 tonnes of equipment….over 350 individual boards had to be laid, which meant that a large dance floor in front of the stage could be achieved and no water could intrude into the marquee. This was a huge concern to the organisers, as the year before they had to contend with lots of soggy carpet!
To keep guests warm, we installed three massive marquee heaters, all set to a certain temperature so that a constant level of heat was available.
The entire site’s power distribution was also done in-house using one of our large generators to supply power around the marquee, not only for our own lighting (down lighting via candelabras and up lighting via LED par cans) and heating, but also for other contractors requirements. (catering / bar / stage).
No that’s not the end…..we also delivered a large stage, entrance doors, over 30 tables and 300 banqueting chairs, plus all the linen for the tables were also supplied by us.
