The Pros and Cons of a Wedding Marquee

As a Marquee Hire company we think a Marquee is a fabulous option for your wedding or any event come to that. Though that may not come as a surprise here are some of the things you should consider when deciding on your event venue.

What are the disadvantages of a wedding marquee?

• Location
  Are you unsure where you want your marquee? There are many beautiful venues across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire some of which are listed on our venue suppliers page HERE...
• Matting floors
  Matting floors can be hard to walk on especially in high heels, and more so if the ground underneath is uneven or soft like grass. That's why we offer hardwood flooring that overcomes this issue.
• A location with vehicle access
  Now we would agree in this day and age most locations will have vehicle access of some type, however some of the most beautiful locations are hidden away so access can be variable. We have a variety of vehicles to help overcome any access issues and can arrange a site visit to make a plan.
• A marquee is a reception venue only
  Currently only licensed venues can legally perform binding marriages and civil partnerships. Although perfect for a reception and evening function a marquee is not eligible as a wedding ceremony venue.

  You can customise the look and feel of a marquee as it is a blank canvas for you to specify linings, lighting and decor to suit your vision.
• Enjoy your day in the location of your choice
  Not all locations have the facilities to hold a wedding or event. A marquee can overcome this so you still get to enjoy your day in that special place.
• An outdoor wedding venue that's indoors
  The weather in the UK may not want to cooperate on your wedding day, so a marquee with panoramic views is a great way to bring the outdoors in, whilst leaving the rain outside should that be the weather on the day.
• Expandable to fit guests and facilities
  Plans can change and a marquee can change with them. If you need to add a larger dance floor or bar area, maybe reconfigure the layout that's no problem with a marquee.
• Extend an existing venue to create extra space
  If you have chosen your venue but are a little short on capacity or need space for a drinks reception or extra catering space, then a marquee could be the perfect option. Using our decorative linings and lighting both areas can be decorated to match.
• Sloping or uneven locations
  So you know where you want your wedding reception to be but the ground is uneven or on grass that could get messy. Our hardwood flooring system means you get a flat floor suspended above the ground which is clean, wheelchair friendly and safe in uneven locations.
